LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they arrested a man after he stole a donut from Thorntons.

It happened at the Thorntons on Dixie Hwy., near W. Pages Lane, at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say they were in the process of arresting Jordan M. McLean on a warrant when they decided to search his pockets. According to an arrest report, they found a single donut wrapped in a tissue in one of his pockets.

Police say McLean told them he had just bought the donut while in Thorntons, but the officer spoke with the store clerk who allegedly told police, "she had not sold any pastries."

The donut was "not recoverable" according to police.

McLean was arrested for misdemeanor theft.
