UK faculty criticizes its president for budget problems

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The University of Kentucky's president is being blasted by faculty members for recent budget problems.

The UK Senate Council sent a memo to president Eli Capilouto saying the current budget crisis is largely due to "presidential priorities," citing $50 million in new spending.

UK officials sent out layoff notices this summer to 140 people.  Another round of budget cuts could come before the end of the year.
