LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- One person died in a crash on the Shawnee Expressway (I-264), west of Dixie Highway Friday afternoon.
The Jefferson County coroner's office said William Dee Cundiff, 30, of the 3700-block of Stratford Lane, Louisville, died after the vehicle he was driving struck a concrete pillar at the side of the road. The pillar was part of an ongoing project to build a noise-retaining wall.
Police say Cundiff was the only occupant of the car, a 1985 Chevrolet Chevette. Preliminary information indicates Cundiff veered off the road for an unknown reason. An autopsy was scheduled Saturday, according to the coroner's office.
