Kentucky's scheduled has been considerably tougher than Mississippi State's.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDRB) – If you trust the Sagarin ratings,
Kentucky has a better chance against Mississippi State today than the Wildcats
are given my most observers.
The Bulldogs are favored by 10, sitting with a 4-0 record.
UK, of course, is 1-4.
But Sagarin's predictor computer formula only favors Mississippi
State by 8.
Here's an interesting topic to consider:
What would Kentucky's record be if the Wildcats had played
Mississippi State's schedule? And what would MSU's record be if the Bulldogs had
played the five teams UK has played.
The combined record of UK's five opponents is 21-2 with an
average Sagarin rating of 49.4. The numbers for Mississippi State are 7-12 with
an average Sagarin of 126.
Put UK against Jackson State, Auburn, Troy and South Alabama
and the Wildcats would likely be 3-1. Matched against Louisville, Kent State,
Western Kentucky, Florida and South Carolina, the Bulldogs would be 2-3.
Just a thought.
