Unfair provides local alternative to St. James

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- For anyone looking for an alternative to St. James, a quick walk will take you to another art fair, the Unfair.

The show started 15 years ago when Paul Harshaw decided to sell some of his work in the backyard of Mag Bar.

The event has grown ever since, and is an affordable venue for local artists to sell their work.

"I think having a venue that is exclusively Louisville artists is more beneficial for our culture and our arts community here," says Harshaw.

The Unfair makes it cheap for Louisville artists to participate by selling T-shirts to pay for the permit costs.

"I do a lot of different things. I'm also an art therapist, so it's very important for me to be expressive in any way that I want to be," says artist Susan Cruz. "It doesn't have to be one particular thing, and this show allows me to do that."
