LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Engineers begin a top to bottom inspection of the Kennedy Bridge today.
Crews will check all the steel on the tension bridge that carries thousands across the Ohio River each day.
Most of the inspections this week will not affect traffic, but single lane closures on Interstate 65 will be necessary next week during the evening and overnight hours.
This type of bridge inspection happens every two years.
