LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A former Ben-Gals cheerleader has admitted to having sex with a 17-year-old student at the northern Kentucky school where she was a teacher.
The admission took place in court Monday morning, when Sarah Jones pleaded guilty to charges of sexual misconduct and custodial interference.
The 27-year-old was a teacher at Dixie Heights High School before resigning last November.
Her trial was set to start on Wednesday.
Jones' mother, a former school principal, also pleaded guilty today to a misdemeanor charge of tampering with evidence.
She admitted to sending the teen a text message telling him to get rid of his phone.
