LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Metrosafe dispatchers tell WDRB News that a student was struck by a school bus Tuesday afternoon.
It happened at the corner of Rockford Lane and Teaneck Lane, just after 4 p.m.
According to Ben Jackey, a spokesperson for Jefferson County Public Schools, the accident involved JCPS Bus #1103, a special needs bus that is not affiliated with any particular school.
The bus was carrying four students at the time of the incident.
Jackey said the bus was traveling on Rockford Lane, toward Dixie Hwy., when two students (who were not on the bus, or affiliated with the bus in any way) ran in front of the bus in an attempt to cross the street.
One of those students was struck by the bus. That student was transported to an undisclosed hospital. Jackey said the student's injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
None of the four students on the school bus was hurt. Jackey said they were placed on other buses and taken to their respective destinations.
