LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Taking a quick look into the NBA
exhibition season, trying to learn the new uniforms and figure out Who's Hot and Who's Not.
*Anthony Davis looked like the frontrunner for Rookie of the
Year, with 22 points, 9 rebounds and a block while playing nearly 30 minutes
for the Hornets. His only bad moment – three of Davis' shots were swatted.
*Past and future teammate Darius Miller delivered 8 points
in 12 minutes off the bench.
*Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had 10 points, three boards and four
assists while playing nearly 29 minutes for Charlotte, making 5 of 9 nine
shots. He started. He'll probably be a captain by Thanksgiving.
*Marquis Teague missed two shots and had two turnovers,
while playing less than four minutes in his debut for the Chicago Bulls. A
story in the Chicago Tribune said that Teague is definitely the team's third
point guard, behind Kirk Hinrich and Nate Robinson, with Derrick Rose injured.
There have been predictions the D-League is in Teague's future. Beware.
*Nazr Mohammed had 13 points and 12 boards in his homecoming
with the Chicago Bulls.
*Doron Lamb didn't play for Milwaukee. He's dealing with a
torn ligament in his left elbow, hoping to avoid surgery.
*Kelenna Azubuike had six points in 14 minutes for his new
club, the Cleveland Cavaliers.
*Tyler Zeller, brother of Indiana center Cody, had six
points and 3 rebounds in 24 minutes.
*Samardo Samuels did not play for Cleveland, although he has
reportedly trimmed down to 246 pounds and been working with Antawn Jamison to improve
his perimeter game.
