Historic 9-11 fire truck to be on display at Fort Knox

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A fire truck that responded to the 9-11 terrorist attack at the Pentagon is heading to Fort Knox.

The truck will be displayed at the General George Patton Museum of Leadership.

Right now the truck is being prepared and preserved before the public can see it.

The museum hopes to host an event when the truck is moved to its exhibit space, but it hasn't decided yet when that will be.

The Patton Museum is one of only a few that will be able to show off a fire truck that responded to the 2001 attacks.

The truck was several yards away when a plane hit the building, but suffered observable damage.
