Hardin County Jail escapee found

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky State Police have confirmed that a Hardin County Jail inmate that has been on the run for more than a week has been found by Elizabethtown Police.

Officials say 23-year-old Robert W. Wilson was being moved from one jail facility to another on Friday, October 5.

A sergeant with the detention center had left Wilson in a chair as he went to an upstairs room to retrieve some of Wilson's belongings. When the sergeant came back, Wilson was gone.

It is believed that Wilson simply walked away. The door to the outside activity area was not locked.

Wilson is described as a white male with blonde hair and blue eyes. He is 6'1" with a thin build.

KSP officials say Wilson had been charged with rape and was serving a sentence for that crime. Copyright 2012 WDRB News. All Rights Reserved.
