Festival highlights businesses of Southwest Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Businesses and restaurants from the southwest side of Louisville showcased their products today at a community festival.

Live music, food and a car show highlighted the Valley Station event, which sees crowds of about 25-thousand people each year.

Local and national vendors took the opportunity to reach a larger audience this weekend.

"This is the way to get in front of the most people in the shortest amount of time," says vendor Jenny Meyer. "Our typical home tastings are about 10 or 12 people and they take about two hours, while in six hours I can get in front of hundreds of people. So it's just beneficial business-wise."

The festival was part of a whole week's worth of events in the area.

Earlier this week the event sponsored a late-night balloon glow and a community spelling bee.
