LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Bullitt East High School identifies the man who died in a crash at the intersection of Highway 3192 and Dale Lane Monday morning as an English teacher, Brian Walters.
Kentucky State Police say officers responded at 6:44 a.m. They say a Honda, which Walters was driving, dropped off the right shoulder, and the driver overcorrected. That's when the Honda drove across both westbound and eastbound lanes, and collided with an F-150.
Walters was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the F-150 went to University Hospital. His condition has not been released.
Bullitt East High School says Walters had been an English teacher there for four years, and had served in the district for seven years. The school says he was on his way to work when the accident happened. Ballard High School has also confirmed that Walters coached girls soccer there.
The "Bullitt East Livewire" on Twitter said Walters is survived by his wife and two children.
Students and staff at Bullitt East have been notified, by request of the family, and a letter will go home with students. Counselors are at the school and will be there all week.
