CORONER: Mother, son may each have died of heart disease

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The coroner's office says a mother and son whose bodies were discovered in a Baxter Avenue home may each have died of heart disease.

43-year-old Joseph Beliles was pronounced dead at 3:31 Monday afternoon.  The coroner's office says he had been dead for several days, with the cause of death listed as "probable heart disease."

Beliles lived with his mother, 69-year-old Beatrice Burchel.  The coroner says she died of heart disease.

Autopsies performed Tuesday indicated they died of natural causes.  Authorities say no carbon monoxide or other environmental issues were discovered inside the house.

Authorities were called Monday by a friend or relative to conduct a welfare check on the home in the 1000 block of Baxter Avenue. When officers arrived around 3:30 p.m., they found both bodies inside.
