LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Louisville was the pick by writers that cover each of the 15 Big East programs to win the league in men's basketball this season.

And Peyton Siva, U of L's dynamic senior point guard, is the pick as the league's Big East player of the year. Chane Behanan and Gorgui Dieng were voted on the second team, according to Mike Waters of Syracuse.com, who conducts the poll before every season.

Siva was named on 14 of 15 ballots.

Also voted to the first team were Cincinnati guard Sean Kilpatrick, Notre Dame center Jack Cooley, Georgetown's Otto Porter and Providence guard Vincent Council.

Joining Behanan and Dieng on the second team are three players from Syracuse – guard Brandon Triche, forward C.J. Fair and guard Michael Carter-Williams. A tie in the voting also put D'Angelo Harrison of St. John's on the team.

Pitt center Steven Adams was voted the league's top newcomer.

The coaches' picks will be announced Wednesday morning during Big East media day in New York City.
