LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It was an emotional gathering Tuesday night, as a high school girls' soccer team remembered its coach, who was killed in a car crash.
It was a somber mood at the start of the game between Ballard and Sacred Heart.
The girls held hands and formed a circle near mid-field to remember Ballard coach Brian Walters.
He was killed Monday morning in a crash in Spencer County.
Police say he ran off the road, overcorrected and pulled into the path of a pickup truck.
Tonight, friends, athletes and parents were deeply moved by the loss of the 38-year-old.
Walters was a father, husband and high school English teacher at Bullitt East.
That high school sent home a letter with students yesterday and counselors will be there all week.
