LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been charged after police say he cheated people out of their money by getting them to play a game of chance that was anything but.

According to an arrest report, 32-year-old Andrew D. Edmiston was running a complicated game of chance in the parking lot of a BP Station in the 2400 block of Crittenden Drive.

The game involved a board, clothespins and numbers associated with points and prizes.
However, police say Edmiston deceived players about the prizes available and the chances of winning.

Edmiston told police he has been running he game for months.

One woman told police she lost $500 to Edmiston. She says she has never seen anyone win and now believes there's no way to win the game.

Edmiston was arrested at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 and charged with theft by deception.
