Police say Kroger employee pocketed $1,000 in store cash

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An 18-year-old woman accused of stealing $1,000 in cash from Kroger is no longer welcome in any store.

According to an arrest report, Kroger loss prevention offers observed Olivia Young concealing cash in her pocket while working as a cashier between Oct. 2 and Oct. 15.

When Young was confronted, police say she admitted taking the cash and provided a written statement acknowledging that she stole $1,000 from the store.

Young was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking.

Loss prevention officers have banned Young from all Kroger stores for life.
