LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The Detroit Tigers are going to the World Series after sweeping the New York Yankees. That means workers at Louisville Slugger are busy getting their bats ready for the big game.
Louisville Slugger has made bats for players in every World Series since the first fall classic in 1903. Chuck Schupp of Louisville Slugger explains, "What we're doing here is small bats...60 bats total for the Tigers."
The Saint Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants play game five Friday night. That can be seen on WDRB. Louisville Slugger will make bats for the winning team of the series on Monday.
In the event the series goes to game seven, which would be played Monday night, it would make bats for both teams.
