LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Churchill Downs may be close to the finish line in its pursuit of September racing. The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission is scheduled to meet Tuesday afternoon, and racing dates for thoroughbred tracks are expected to be on the agenda.
Churchill Downs wants to add September racing, hoping to capitalize on good weather to attract more people.
Last week, a panel of commission members recommended that Churchill pick up September racing dates that traditionally went to Turfway Park, which wants to reduce its schedule.
