Kentucky schools receive test scores; they're likely to be lower

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Kentucky schools already have their new test scores, which are expected to be lower this year.

The Kentucky Department of Education says school districts are reviewing those scores for Assessment and Accountability and they'll be finalized next week.

The KDE expects to release the scores to the public next Friday.  The data comes from test results from the 2011-12 school year.

Kentucky was the first of 46 states to adopt the Common Core standards and will be the first to get those results back.  JCPS and business leaders are reminding parents that the scores will be lower this year, because the bar was raised.
