Martial arts come to the Kentucky International Convention Center

Martial Artists from around the world are coming to Louisville for the 26th Hwang's Martial Arts International U.S. Open Championship & Expo. The action takes place on Saturday, October 27.

Competitors are coming from as far as Brazil and Canada. There will be a black belt competition at 9 a.m. Opening ceremonies start at 12:30 p.m. It's all happening at the Kentucky International Convention Center.

Mimi Hwang from Hwang's Martial Arts says getting involved in martial arts can be beneficial for kids and adults. She says kids learn self-confidence, self-discipline and respect. Adults can use martial arts as a form of stress relief.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids. Children under five get in free. Advanced tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children. You can get them in advanced by contacting Hwang's Martial Arts at 2813 N. Hurstbourne Parkway or (502) 412-7755.
