LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have released new information in the case of a shooting and robbery that took place Saturday morning in Big Springs.

Kentucky State Police have now confirmed that a white male entered Carolyn's Corner Store just before 8:00 a.m. The suspect told a female employee that he had a gun and he demanded money and car keys from her.

There was a physical altercation between the female employee and the suspect, and he forced her out of the store and into the parking lot, where he entered her car and demanded her keys.

The employee led the suspect to a male employee's house where she knew there were firearms. When the male employee answered the door, the suspect went into his house. The male employee and the suspect struggled, and during the struggle, the suspect shot him in the arm.

The suspect took the gun and fled the scene. He then went to a nearby house where he robbed an elderly man at gunpoint and stole his car, a 1998 Buick LeSabre.

The suspect is still at large. He is described as a white male in his early to mid 20's, clean shaven with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, boots and a gray toboggan.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Kentucky State Police at 270-766-5078.
