LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Newly released evidence shows a father and son charged with the murder of a teen gave police conflicting statements.
Joshua Gouker and Joshua Young are charged with Trey Zwicker's murder.
The new court documents show they gave conflicting statements about what they saw and where they were the night of Zwicker's murder.
The body of the 14-year old was found beaten behind Liberty High School in May of 2011.
In his initial police interview, Gouker claimed it was other teens who might have beaten Trey to death.
But in a recent one on one interview with me from a state prison in Elliott County -- Gouker claimed he was solely responsible for Trey's murder.
"If I could trade places with Trey I would," Gouker says. "It probably is the worst thing I've ever did. If I knew I was going to come back for murder, I'd much rather have killed Terry or Amanda, not Trey. Trey didn't deserve that."
Prosecutors say they'll continue to try the case with both Young and Gouker. Last week, a judge denied a bond reduction for Josh Young.
