LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One little girl got to see her dream come true with the help of a national organization.
Friends and family gathered today to welcome home 4-year-old Karsyn, who just got back from her trip with the Make a Wish Foundation.
Karsyn was diagnosed earlier this year with a terminal disease that affects her metabolism.
Her family traveled with her to Universal Studios last week, where she got to meet some of her biggest heroes, and see the beach for the first time.
"She does not let it get her down. She gets up every day with a smile on her face and a song in her heart," says Karsyn's mother Kathleen Wallace. "And I can honestly tell you that I've learned so much more from my 4-year-old than I could have ever taught her."
The Make a Wish program in Kentucky and Indiana granted wishes for more than 800 terminally ill children last year.
