Fiery crash kills four in Floyd County

New Albany, IN (WDRB) -- A fiery crash on Highway 111 in Floyd County killed four people early Monday.

A Yellow Cab burst into flames after colliding with a Cadillac on the dark stretch Highway 111 near Seven Mile Lane about 1 a.m.

Floyd County Sheriff's Department says three passengers in the cab died at the scene along with the driver of the Cadillac.

The cab driver is the sole survivor. He was flown to University Hospital in Louisville. His condition is not known, but officials on the scene tell WDRB he was conscious and speaking.

Indiana State Police say Highway 111 will be closed for much of the morning. Harrison County Sheriffs are blocking southbound lanes at the Horseshoe Casino. Floyd County Sheriffs are blocking northbound lanes just before Seven Mile. Lane.
