Duke Energy workers help with Hurricane Sandy relief

Posted: Updated:

CLARKSVILLE, IND. -- 150 Duke Energy workers are also headed to Charleston, West Virginia to help restore power.  Some of those workers left Wednesday morning from the Duke Energy Indiana office in Clarksville.

Crews will trim trees, help survey the damage, and perform other support work during their trip.  They could be away from home as long as two weeks.

Pat More with Duke Energy says, "When you think about the snow hitting trees with leaves on them, you have a lot of broken branches and a lot of tree issues, so that makes that home restoration that much more difficult."

Duke Energy crews also left from Richmond and New Castle, Indiana.
