Mostly A and B grades for Indiana schools

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- 60 percent of Indiana schools receive A or B grades, though new test results show there's significant room for improvement.

Almost 20 percent of Indiana schools received D or F ratings for student progress.  Seven percent fall into a category so low that the state could take them over.

The Indiana Board of Education approved the grades for the nearly 2,100 schools on Wednesday.

The grading system is based largely on student standardized test scores, graduation rates, and college and career readiness.

Kentucky's results come out on Friday.
