Six Hardin County schools earn "proficient" status

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- In Hardin County, six schools have earned "proficient" status.  That puts the county's scores in the state's top 30 percent of schools.

Those schools are:

John Hardin High School
Central Hardin High School
East Hardin Middle School
G.C. Burkhead Elementary School
Lincoln Trail Elementary School
Heartland Elementary School

Overall, Hardin County Schools scored a 57.8 and is ranked as the 59th school district in Kentucky. That places it in the top 30 percent of proficiency.

Superintendent Nanette Johnson said in a news release, "The anxiety of the unknown is over and the baseline has been set.  We will keep our emphasis on continuous growth and learning for every student every day."

She continued, "It is the things that our students, teachers and staff are doing in our schools every day that matters most.  The daily art of teaching, learning and caring that occurs in our classrooms is top-notch.
