Police looking for suspect after convenience store robbery

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- Police are asking for the public's help to identify a man who robbed the Thornton's on Court Avenue in Jeffersonville.

According to a news release from the Jeffersonville Police Department, the armed suspect entered the store at 401 West Court Avenue around 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 30. That's when he approached the cashier, pointed a gun at the clerk and forced her to open the register.

The suspect is described as a black male between 5'8" and 5'11", with a thin to medium build. When last seen he was wearing a black knit cap, a light colored pull-over and blue jeans.

After getting the business cash, he left the store on foot but was seen getting into a vehicle parked and hidden behind a nearby business.
