LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB News) -- There is another new place in town to watch your favorite sporting event on the big screen.
It is a new sports bar and restaurant near Oxmoor Center.
Just in time for basketball season, Champps Americana is opening for dinner Wednesday evening in a building that used to house the old Fox and Hound Restaurant and Bar.
"Champps found out the location became available and we knew the city of Louisville would be an amazing spot to do our concept," says managing partner Dan O'Connell.
Wednesday afternoon, the kitchen was a busy place as workers prepared for the opening.
O'Connell says 90 percent of the food served at Champps is made from scratch.
It offers 29 beers on tap.
But with twenty 70-inch LCD TV's, Champps says if you can't make it out to the stadium, ballpark, or arena, it has the best seat in the house for every kind of sporting event.
"We have every sports package you can think of," says O'Connell, "from the NFL, college basketball and football to NASCAR."
The company that owns Champps has 50 such locations throughout the United States with more to come. While dinner services begins Wednesday evening, starting Sunday, Nov. 11, Champps will be open for both lunch and dinner.
