Jeffersonville Police search for suspect after teens assaulted

Posted: Updated:

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- Jeffersonville Police are searching for a suspect they say sexually assaulted two teenage boys.

They say the suspect sexually assaulted the teens -- one 13 and the other 17 -- on Oct. 5 and Halloween.

Police say the victims told them the suspect was dressed professionally lured them into a wooded area not far from Jeffersonville High School on Allison Lane. The assault on Oct. 5 happened in the 2000 block of Tenth Street, and the Halloween assault took place in the 2400 block of Middle Road.

Police say the suspect would initiate a friendly conversation with the victims, and never displayed a weapon.

Jeffersonville Police Det. Sgt. Todd Hollis says the suspect "has been described by both our victims as a black male, mid-twenties, or somewhere in that area. He's thin to medium build, he has a close-cut hairstyle, possibly a small amount of facial hair on the chin."

Hollis says the suspect is between 5-foot-8-inches and 6-foot. A composite sketch shows what the suspect might look like.

All schools in the area have been notified, and patrols have been increased in the area. Police are also asking any victims of the suspect to come forward.

Police have sent possible evidence from the crime scenes for testing but it could take weeks before results are available.

If you think you recognize the man depicted in the composite sketch or have information on the case, call the anonymous Jeffersonville crime tipline at 812-218-TIPS.
