LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- An ambulance on a run was involved in an accident at Lexington Road and Frankfort Avenue.
The ambulance was making a run eastbound on Frankfort Avenue with a person in full cardiac arrest at 10:14 Thursday morning. That's when authorities say a Buick pulled out in front of it. The Buick was driven by an elderly female who was turning from Shelbyville Road onto Lexington.
The ambulance struck the Buick and a firefighter inside was thrown forward. He was taken to University Hospital with shoulder pains.
A second ambulance picked up the patient who was in full cardiac arrest. There's no word on his condition.
The woman in the car was taken to Baptist Hospital just to be checked out. She had no apparent injuries. Police do not expect to file charges at this time.
