LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- It turns out Bruce Springsteen is the Boss when it comes to soliciting charitable donations, too.
Dare to Care raised over $17,000 at Springsteen's KFC Yum Center concert this past Saturday. The donations will help Dare to Care provide food for the hungry locally.
Brian Riendeau, Dare to Care Executive Director, said in a news release, "From the great support provided by arena staff, to Bruce's on-stage shout out to Dare to Care, to the enthusiasm of the crowd, this may have been the smoothest and most profitable collection event we have ever had."
Dare to Care's next project at the KFC Yum Center is a collection for Cell Phones for Soldiers this Sunday, Nov. 11 during U of L's men's basketball game. Fans are asked to bring new or gently used phones. Anyone not attending the game can drop off the phones at the KFC Yum Center box office through November 12, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
