LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- It appears there will be competition to fill the top position in the Kentucky Senate. Senator Bob Leeper has announced he is also interested in the position left vacant by Republican David Williams.
Senate Majority leader Robert Stivers had already announced plans to run. Republicans and Democrats have been operating under the assumption that Stivers will win.
Members will elect the new Senate president in January. Williams left the position after accepting a judgeship in the southern part of the state.
