LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A small child is dead after a crash Saturday evening in Clarksville, Ind.

The Clark County Sheriff says 20-month-old Chanttelle Thomas was pronounced dead at Kosair Children's Hospital after an accident near the Thornton's on U.S. 31 in Clarksville.

The sheriff says Thomas's father was trying to turn into the parking lot of the Thornton's just after 6:00 p.m., but turned into the path of an SUV. A third vehicle was hit in the Thornton's parking lot as the two cars collided.

Another child and an adult in the vehicle, as well as the driver of the SUV, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car was not injured in the crash.

Police say everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt and the children were properly restrained.
