Louisville, Ky. (WDRB) -- Nothing signifies the taste of Kentucky quite like a splash of bourbon mixed with a little chocolate.
And Fourth Street business owner Kelly Ramsey promises her handmade small-batch bourbon truffles at Art Eatables will tickle the taste buds. She showed Sterling Riggs a few secrets to her confections.
Ramsey said, "If you love chocolate, you should at least try them. I have a feeling that I can turn anyone into a bourbon lover. "
Kelly's secret recipe takes two days to make, so this chocolatier kept it simple while showing a self-proclaimed chocolate connoisseur how it's done. "Today we are going to start with something that you can make at home." She says with the right techniques you can surprise your house guests with homemade chocolates.
It all starts with rolling the ganache. Roll it until it's perfectly round. "And then at that point, you can infuse it with bourbons, or extracts or anything so it's really up to you. "
From there, the ganache ball is dipped in Belgian style chocolate. Then it's time to sprinkle on a little vanilla bourbon sugar. Ramsey finally tops it off with a little white chocolate for eye candy.
Kelly has only been in business at Art Eatables for since early November, but she is already looking for good help. But the title of chocolatier is probably not in Sterling's near future.
