WDRB story helps Salvation Army receive enough turkeys

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The Salvation Army says after our story aired Monday, it received enough turkeys to feed the hungry.

The organization needed about 45 turkeys to feed 800 people on Thanksgiving.  The Salvation Army says Wal-Mart stepped up and donated all 45, and the public donated another 26 turkeys.

Donations of paper plates, cups, and plastic utensils are still needed.  Those can be donated directly to the Salvation Army on South Brook Street.
