
Controller Lynette Defevers' Cranberry/Orange Salad
"My mother has made this recipe every Thanksgiving for as long as I can remember. She says she got the recipe from my Dad's Mom after her and Dad were married. So, it's been in the family for at least 40 years."
1 pkg. whole cranberries
1-6oz pkg. red Jello (whichever flavor you prefer)
2 oranges
1 ½ cup sugar
¾ cup chopped pecans (optional)
Prepare Jello according to package directions. Chill until mostly firm but not completely set. Chop cranberries in a blender. Quarter and seed oranges. Remove peel from one orange, but leave peel on the second orange. Chop oranges in a blender. In a large bowl, mix chopped cranberries, chopped oranges sugar and nuts. Mix in chilled Jello. Ready to serve. Refrigerate any remaining amount.
