LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police at the scene say one man has died and a woman has been hurt in a double shooting in the 5000 block of Roederer Drive Wednesday night.
The incident was reported about 9:05 p.m., and initial reports said that a man and woman had been shot at the location. Police said the man was declared dead at the scene. The coroner's office identified him as 46-year-old Robert Levine. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head
There was no word on the woman's condition.
Officers at the scene characterized the incident as a possible attempted murder-suicide.
Authorities say it appears the two people lived together, but they are still investigating the relationship.
Police spoke with neighbors along Roederer Drive after the shooting.
Detectives had responded to the scene and to University of Louisville Hospital. It was too early for authorities to release the names of anyone involved. An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday.
Roederer Drive runs north and south, between Poplar Level Drive and Fern Valley Road.
