LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Outgoing Indiana U.S. Senator Richard Lugar has been suggested as possibly becoming the next secretary of state or even CIA director.
But a spokesman for Lugar says the reports "are without any forethought or knowledge." He also says Lugar is likely to take a job outside the government.
The 80-year-old has been talking with several universities. He hopes to take advantage of his long tenure as a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Lugar lost his bid for a seventh term in the Senate. Democrat Joe Donnelly will replace him.
