LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The parents of a missing Indiana University student are pushing for improved campus safety.  Lauren Spierer's parents attended freshman honors classes Thursday to discuss ideas for The Lauren Project.

It's aimed at increasing awareness of potential dangers that students face.  Suggestions from the classes included a revamped night shuttle service and a campaign encouraging to students to take a friend with them at night.

Spierer was last seen in June of 2011 after a night of partying with friends in downtown Bloomington.
