LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- St. Matthews Police say a Radcliff, Ky. man purchased three diamond rings...with bad checks.

According to an arrest report, 36-year-old Allen Thomas Kinder walked into the Gross Diamond Center on Nov. 14 and purchased two diamond rings worth $10,600 by writing checks he did not have sufficient funds to cover. Police say he then drove to a pawn shop in Elizabethtown, Ky. and pawned one of the rings.

On Sept. 19, Kinder allegedly did the same thing at Genesis Diamonds, using a bad check to purchase a ring worth $6,484, and pawning it at a pawn shop in Radcliff, Ky. later that day.

Police say Kinder was taken into custody on Thursday, after he admitted to the incidents. He is charged with two counts of theft by deception.
