LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- UPS is sweetening the deal as it looks for more employees for the holidays. The company is offering a referral bonus to its current employees.
If a Worldport employee refers someone who ends up being hired, both the current and new employee will receive $150 bonuses.
UPS wants to hire about 1,000 seasonal employees. It points out that not all of those positions are for the overnight shift which most people associate with the company. The company is hiring for its 11 a.m.-3 p.m. shift as well as the midnight-4 a.m. shift.
Pay starts at $8.50 an hour, and UPS says many of those part-time positions can become full-time at the beginning of the year.
UPS says it expects to deliver 28 million packages on its peak day, December 20th.
