Second Annual “Broadway Loves Shriners Hospitals for Children® Benefit Concert” Features Broadway Musical Sensations
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) November 19, 2012
On Monday, December 3, 2012, stars from past and present Broadway shows will perform in a one-night-only New York concert event to benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children. The benefit will be held at the beautiful and historic Grand Lodge Masonic Hall located in the heart of Manhattan at 23rd Street and 6th Avenue.
Hosted by award-winning Broadway leading lady Donna Kane (Les Misérables, Meet Me In St. Louis) with musical supervision by Mark Hartman (Avenue Q, Sondheim on Sondheim), the concert will include performances of popular show tunes and holiday classics.
Participating in the event includes Broadway stars such as:
All proceeds from the night’s event will benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children – Philadelphia which provides advanced care for children with orthopaedic conditions and spinal cord injuries regardless of the ability of a patient or family to pay.
“I am elated to be able to show my appreciation to Shriners Hospital by hosting this very special event for the second year,” says Donna Kane. “To have these wonderful performers gather together for such a special cause is a real testament to the generosity of the Broadway community.”
As an addition to the show, there will be a special performance by the Team USA National Dance Ambassadors. The team is made up of teen dancers from across the country who have been successfully treated for scoliosis with innovative lesser-invasive spine surgeries pioneered at Shriners Hospitals for Children – Philadelphia. The routine will be choreographed by Becky Timms (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Cats). One of the performers will be Donna’s own daughter who was successfully treated at the Philadelphia hospital.
Broadway Loves Shriners Hospitals for Children Benefit Concert begins at 7p.m. at Masonic Hall on 23rd Street and 6th Avenue.
