LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The family of a man clinging to life after being robbed and shot Sunday night is making a desperate plea.
Andre Ballard's family says the 43-year-old was walking to a bus stop after getting off work at his job at Indi's on Broadway.
Police say he was walking north on 11th Street between Chestnut and Muhammad Ali Boulevard when he was robbed and shot. Ballard was able to go back to the restaurant where police were called.
He was rushed to University Hospital and after surgery Monday, doctors have told the family he may not survive.
Annice Graves, Ballard's cousin, said Monday, "My cousin is a good man. I don't want anybody thinking this is some kind of stereotypical situation of somebody who's been out here on drugs, hustling, my cousin wasn't like that. He can't even deal with the drugs, the medication that they are putting in his body, because he hasn't had medication in his body."
The family and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
