LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two Louisville parents are facing felony charges after police say they used their children to "run interference" while they themselves engaged in shoplifting.
According to arrest reports, 33-year-old James J. Coleman and 20-year-old Christina R. Jeffers were in the Walmart on Standiford Plaza Drive, near Preston Hwy., Monday afternoon, when they concealed merchandise from the store and tried to leave the store without paying for it.
Walmart security allegedly told police that the pair, "used their children to run interference and conceal their criminal activity."
The total dollar amount of the merchandise they tried to take was $676.64, according to police.
Coleman and Jeffers were charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition and endangering the welfare of a minor, police say.
