LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The average Louisville Water Company residential customer will see a 77-cent a month increase beginning January 1st. The company says that would bring that customer's monthly bill to $21.40.
The company also says its 2013 budget includes $95,000 for the Customer Assistance Program that helps some people pay their water bills.
Louisville Walter also expects to complete rebuilding the Crescent Hill Filtration Plant in 2013. It also wants to expand its automated meter reading capabilities to southeast Jefferson County and replace its current customer care and billing system.
Louisville Water says it's coping with the community using less water, which is happening in part because Louisville is moving from a manufacturing-based economy to a service-based one, which uses less water.
