Appeal denied for woman convicted of drunken driving death

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A Louisville woman found guilty of driving drunk and killing an 11-year-old boy has lost the fight to appeal her case.  The Kentucky Supreme Court upheld the conviction and 35-year sentence of Angela Baumia.

A jury found her guilty of murder in the June 2010 death of Dylan Geitgey.

Prosecutors say Baumia had a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit when she hit the boy, who was riding his bike.  Geitgey was thrown nearly 70 feet after being hit by the car.
