LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Shopping local this holiday season could mean an extra gift for yourself. The Louisville Independent Business Alliance just kicked off its Shop Local campaign.
It's encouraging shoppers to think local when finding those perfect holiday gifts. Michael Jones of Highland Cleaners says, "When you spend a dollar at a local business more of that dollar stays in Louisville. More of that dollar gets recirculated here, enriching your neighbors and friends, making Louisville a more prosperous community."
The Shift Your Shopping contest allows shoppers the chance to win $1,000 in gift certificates or other prizes.
